The Social Services Department is committed to supporting the well-being of our community members, especially those facing housing instability. Through our grant programs, we aim to provide resources and support for individuals and families in need. Below is an overview of the programs available:
The Bringing Families Home (BFH) program is designed to reduce homelessness among families involved with Child Welfare Services. Through this program, we provide housing-related assistance to reunify children with their families and ensure a stable environment. Services may include rental assistance, security deposits, and support services tailored to each family’s unique needs.
The Home Safe Program helps protect at-risk adults, particularly elders, who are at risk of homelessness or housing instability. This program offers emergency housing services, intensive case management, and support in addressing the root causes of housing vulnerability. Our goal is to help participants achieve long-term stability and maintain their independence within the community.
The Housing and Disability Advocacy Program (HDAP) provides assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness who may have disabilities. HDAP offers case management, housing assistance, and support in applying for disability benefits, empowering participants to access the resources they need for stable housing and financial security.
Food insecurity is a significant issue that affects countless individuals and families around the world. Recognizing this, many organizations such as our food pantry strive to provide essential groceries and support to those facing food insecurities.
Our food pantry operates on a monthly basis, providing groceries to our participants in need. This consistent assistance ensures that families have a reliable source of food, alleviating the stress and anxiety associated with not knowing where their next meal will come from.
In addition to our monthly programs, our food pantry also maintains an emergency supply for case situations that may arise. This contingency plan allows us to assist families in urgent need of food, such as those facing unexpected hardships or emergencies.
By offering both regular distributions and emergency assistance, our food pantry serves as a lifeline for participants. It ensures that no one goes hungry, regardless of their circumstances.
Through our food pantry, we strive to empower individuals and families to break free from the cycle of food insecurity. We believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious food, and we are committed to providing that support to those in need.
If you are facing food insecurities or know someone who is in need, please reach out to us. We are here to assist you in any way we can. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity.
The I Matter program is a 12-week initiative designed to empower and engage youth in preventing substance use and gang involvement. By fostering open dialogue and providing a safe space for youth to express themselves, this program aims to create a supportive environment where participants can share their experiences, concerns, and explore strategies to combat these issues.
The I Matter program focuses on providing youth with the necessary tools and support to make informed choices and resist the influence of substance use and gang involvement. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants will have the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking discussions, gain insights from guest speakers, and explore various resources related to these topics.
We have dedicated child safety seat technicians who are ready to assist you in the installation and proper use of your child’s safety seat. Our trained technicians have the knowledge and expertise to ensure that your child’s car seat is installed correctly, providing them with the highest level of safety while riding in a vehicle.
When you bring your child’s safety seat to our facility, our technicians will conduct a thorough inspection of both the seat and the vehicle’s installation system. They will ensure that the car seat is properly secured and aligns with the vehicle’s safety guidelines. Our technicians will also answer any questions you may have and provide you with guidance on proper usage and maintenance.
We are committed to supporting families and ensuring the best possible care for their children. We understand that finding affordable and reliable childcare services can be a significant challenge, especially for low-income families.
To address this issue, we are pleased to offer subsidized child care vouchers to eligible families. These vouchers provide financial assistance to families who are working, seeking employment, or attending school.
In order to qualify for the subsidized child care vouchers, families must meet certain income qualifications. These qualifications are determined by our government and are designed to target families who face financial barriers to accessing quality childcare services.
By offering subsidized child care vouchers, we aim to ease the financial burden on families while ensuring that their children receive the necessary care and attention. We understand that a reliable and secure childcare environment is crucial for the growth and development of children.
Our subsidized child care vouchers can be redeemed at participating childcare centers and facilities in the area. We have carefully vetted these centers to ensure they provide a safe environment, qualified staff, and a nurturing learning environment.
To apply for the subsidized child care vouchers, interested families must fill out an application form and provide supporting documentation, such as proof of income, employment, or school enrollment.
The Recovery Group is a specialized support group for individuals struggling with substance use. It provides a safe space for individuals to come together and discuss their experiences, challenges, and strategies for maintaining sobriety.
