Deann Kamalani

Chairperson

Deann Kamalani serves as Chairperson of the Tribal Council for the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in tribal government, gaming operations, and marketing, including a decade as Director of Marketing at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino, where she oversaw strategic marketing initiatives, budgeting, promotions, and guest engagement.

Her leadership experience includes guiding large multidisciplinary teams, overseeing complex budgets, and supporting the Tribe’s long-term economic sustainability and growth.

Deann previously served as Director of Training and Director of Player Development and was a member of the original opening team at Chukchansi Gold, helping shape the organization during its formative years.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration with a concentration in Psychological Counseling from Chaminade University. She also completed the prestigious Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.

In addition to her professional and Tribal leadership roles, Deann is a longtime youth sports coach, reflecting her commitment to leadership development, teamwork, mentorship, and community service.
